LiquidSonics sponsored Beatcon Berlin 2025, the premier community event for German rap and hip-hop production. The two-day gathering brought together producers, engineers, and beatmakers for panels, workshops, and hands-on exploration of the latest gear and production tools. The event was hosted by House of Music, a creative space for music, open working environments, and diverse networking possibilities in the East Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
As part of the sponsorship, award-winning producer/mixer Timo Krämer and engineer Julian David led a 60-minute masterclass on creating depth and space in stereo mixes, a challenge particularly relevant to hip-hop’s vocal productions. Both engineers demonstrated how precise reverb control, from basic parameters to advanced mixing techniques, can maintain clarity while adding dimension and depth. Timo, who educates thousands of German producers through his YouTube channel and the German Producer Network, integrated Seventh Heaven and Lustrous Plates into the demonstrations, showing how different reverb types solve specific mixing challenges.
In the venue’s Genelec-equipped Dolby Atmos room, immersive mixing specialists Eric Horstmann and Leo Elsner shared techniques for translating stereo mixes into compelling spatial experiences. In their workshops, both engineers discussed their approaches to immersive mixing workflows and reverb processing — techniques detailed further in our recent artist interview with Eric.
Thanks to the team at Beatcon for this exciting opportunity to connect with the thriving German rap and hip-hop community. Special appreciation to Genelec and Dolby Labs Germany for providing an excellent immersive monitoring environment in the Atmos room.
